The house was published in the Washington Post Home Section and the Annual Houses edition of Fine Homebuilding, as well as appearing in an episode of HGTV’s “Dreambuilders.” The house has breathtaking views of the Shenandoah River and Valley. The owner asked Julia to design his West Virginia mountainside dream home in a way that captured two very different forms and functions: first, it should be inspired by the classic Texaco service stations of the 1930's (for his classic car restoration hobby); and second, it should have soaring space and views of the mountainside, as with Julia's own mountain getaway home.
